RAIN WATER HARVESTING
Rainwater harvesting and artificial recharge is the most suitable alternative to combat water scarcity. Sponsored Teachers’ Training College undertook a project in 2023 for Rooftop Rain Water Harvesting in collaboration with ‘ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth’. The project has been successfully completed including installation of water pipeline, filter and construction of water recharge pit in all the college buildings. This project involves roof-top rain water harvesting scheme for artificial recharge of ground water in the college campus. The main objective of this project is to increase the ground water reserve. The rooftop rain water is channelized from the rooftop of the college buildings including Hostel buildings with the help of pipeline and filter. The filtered rain water is channelized to the nearest ground water recharging pit to recharge the ground water.
